Why is it that many of my friends just bluntly state that 'macs are better than windows'?
Understandably, that is their opinion, but the way they state it is as if they know for a fact that Macs are better.
Honestly, Macs are nice. The interface is cool. But then people say that 'Vista sucks'. Yet 3/4 of them have never even tried one, and just base their statements on what the public thinks.
Then whenever someone says Macs are the best because of the 'no virus' issue, I get mad. Why? Macs DO get viruses, but like many of you have heard, their market share is small enough that they never will GET targeted by the bad-bad boys. Heck, Ubuntu is better than both when it comes to viruses. :P
Anyways, why do people say 'Macs rock, Windows suck'? I don't get it...

I don't like people
when they say 'I went from PC to Mac, and it rocks now!"
I often ask 'what was wrong with the pc?'
Many responses I get include 'my pc crashed', 'a virus appeared', 'it took five extra seconds to load up my favorite website today', ect.
My answer?
"Some people can 'change' very quickly from one operating system to another. Others practically 'forget' everything (from the mouse to the keyboard) and assume that everyone is completely different.
I honestly can 'change' to a Mac if needs be. But I honestly prefer Windows because of the way that I can access programs and the programs that I can access. MS Word is tough adding to Mac, but to Windows it is default.
I know of someone who 'couldn't live without their[my] blackberry', and even though a blackberry isn't exactly a Mac, it shows that some people have a hard time 'switching'. But my best answer to a 'my pc is broken, help' question is, don't give up, fix the problem, and prevent it from happening again.
I honestly would cry if my father made us switch from Vista to Mac, because I am used to the Vista, love the Vista, and am comfortable with it. That's the key word, 'comfortable'. If you aren't comfortable to move to Mac, but 'have to' anyway, don't. Just try to save up for a more improved computer. If you have Windows 95/98, consider Windows XP. Have a 2000 or Me? Get XP.
For those that think that 'Vista' is 'bad', first off, it isn't. I'm using one to post this reply. I enjoy Vista's new features. I haven't encountered any bugs worth whining about. And I didn't upgrade from XP, I started from fresh. Which is what others that complain don't do, they just upgrade, and then wonder why their computer cannot handle Vista's high graphics and speed...
Also, if your computer is slow, don't just 'throw it away and get a new one', perhaps it isn't the hardware, but the software. Consider cleaning out unneeded files, uninstalling games and programs that you rarely use. Make regular backups on disk or web, so that in case you loose stuff, you can quickly regain it again."

Just wanted to get that out.

So now I am on my Vista
Well, after cleaning out tons of crap, and moving files, and installing programs and PC games, I'm proud to announce that I am officially on my windows Vista.
Okay, it's not 'mine', but I will use it more than everyone else in my family.
What do I like about it that XP doesn't have? Well, the new 'look' is very nice. I like the preview that appears when you hover the cursor over the programs. It's also very fast, plus FireFox's Vista-Areo will look more like IE than on XP.
I'll show screenshots soon.

New computer
Well, surprise surprise! My parents bought a Windows Vista machine for me for Christmas! I am still using the XP, but I will provide many screen shots once I get the Vista and customize it the way I want.

Internet Explorer (being sarcastic)
I haven't mentioned much of my thoughts about this browser, other than:
'What on earth is that application doing taking up my computer space?'
Honestly, I have only use Internet Explorer maybe less than twenty times this year, after my computer was updated to XP. I have only used it to test websites that I code, to make sure that those whom insist on using Internet Explorer will see my site just as well as anyone else.
Honestly, who would use a program that seems to update itself each time a new Windows operating machine is released? FireFox, Opera, Safari, Netscape, even Chrome (still in BETA though) hasn't updated as much as Internet Explorer. Yes, FireFox is currently in version 3.0.4, but the two extra numbers aren't important. Internet Explorer is at version 8 now, FireFox isn't even at 4 yet!
And why did it take Internet Explorer forever to realize that they were the only browser left that didn't contain the tab feature? It took them years before they updated to version 7, currently used by a good portion of the world.
Now, FireFox isn't perfect, but neither is Internet Explorer. FireFox has a cool logo, who could say 'no' to a fox on fire surrounding the world? Alright, IE fans would, but since when is a blue 'E' anymore exciting?
I guess I'll stop being sarcastic and end this post.

IE problems
Well, it appears that recently some hackers have found yet another way to get inside Internet Explorer.

It appears that users of Internet Explorer are being 'encouraged' to use a different browser for a 'little while'.
Ha, I hope that the switch to FireFox/Chrome/Opera/Safari becomes 'permanent'.
I wonder how long until Internet Explorer gets attacked again.

Release date of Windows 7?
So, researching online, I've noticed that Windows 7 may be released as early as June of 2009. Doubt it, but who believes that Windows 7 could be released sometime in 2009? I have a poll set up to answer it. I am unsure of the exact date, to be honest.
